May 26th sees the penultimate Floorplay before the 4th birthday celebrations! The last weekend of the month sees Floorplay return to Club NL once again for another sellout edition. This time, resident and host Paul Sparkes jumps onto the decks for a special extended 5-hour set.
A set this long requires genuine variety of tracks, a true build and a real ability to know when to hit the peaks. This night to spectrum a wide range in house, and is eagerly anticipated.
Sparkes has taken the decision to play a longer set after recent gigs abroad. He says: ''I had the idea to do a number of longer sets again from some recent gigs abroad. It seemed silly to travel all the way to Russia, for example, to only play 90 minutes. I basically said to the promoters that if I'm coming all that way I'd rather take control of the night. I've played long sets after long journeys in places like Boston, New York and Seattle over the years, and it just feels far more satisfying. Besides, when I started out as a DJ in the mid-90s it was normal to do the whole night, only one DJ was booked back then!''
